Did you know the first recorded Women’s Day was held on 28 February 1909 in New York City? What began as “Woman’s Day” was a bold declaration — courageous women standing together to demand the right to work, to vote, to open their own bank accounts, and to have autonomy over their own money and lives.
From those early voices grew a global movement. International Women’s Day has become a powerful symbol of progress — championing equal opportunity in the workplace, reproductive rights, leadership, safety, and dignity for women everywhere. It honours the resilience of those who came before us and celebrates the strength, intelligence, creativity, and leadership of women today.
March 8th is now recognised as International Women’s Day around the world. This day is not only about protest — it is about progress. It is about recognising how far we have come, while continuing to lift one another higher, and celebrating being a woman.
How will you mark this day of celebration?
Let’s not leave the MEN out of the picture.
For the men here — how will you celebrate the remarkable women in your life today?. Let’s not be divided by gender, but united in respect, partnership, and shared possibility. A heartfelt thank you. A public acknowledgement. A moment of genuine appreciation. Small acts matter — and recognition is powerful.
Because —— equality is not a woman’s issue — it is a human one.
When women rise, families rise. Communities rise. Humanity rises.
