In this video, Marisa Peer explains how our words and repeated thoughts affect our minds, bodies, and everyday lives. She says language gives instructions to the subconscious mind. These messages can build confidence and support healing, or keep us trapped in fear and self-doubt.
Marisa shares how she recovered after a serious accident. Doctors warned that she might need skin grafts and be left with a limp, but she refused to accept those predictions. She believes changing the messages she gave her mind helped her body heal.
She also explains how beliefs formed before age seven can make us feel flawed, alone, or unworthy as adults. When we recognise these old patterns, we can challenge them and choose healthier thoughts.
Instead of spending years discussing the past, Marisa focuses on faster change. Her approach has three parts: believe you are worthy, work consistently, and confidently share your abilities with the world.
Using positive “I am” statements and learning to support yourself can build confidence and guide your actions. The video asks: will old beliefs control your life, or will you choose new thoughts and take back your power?

This conversation resonates with my own journey. I wrote a poem and created a song called ” The Stories We Tell ” about how the stories we tell ourselves become our beliefs, and the beliefs become the life we choose. It is posted below. Editor Jacquie Walker
