Back in 2016, Jean Houston talked about “a great wave of change” that is “gathering its earth-shaking powers” and called on humanity to “raise the bar of who and what we thought we were, are, and yet can be.” For more than a decade in her workshops, Jean Houston has been calling people to gather, to learn how to endure this vast movement, and“how to ride it” and co-create the New Earth and a new reality.
Her message was an invitation to spiritual participation: to live with greater awareness, to trust the deeper currents of transformation, and to recognise that personal awakening and collective renewal belong to the same unfolding mystery. Her words focused not simply on change itself, but on the enlargement of human identity and possibility. She presented this moment as one in which collective transformation was awakening new dimensions of purpose, courage, and imagination, inviting people to see themselves as participants in “a whole new order of reality and destiny.”
A central thread in her message was the belief that this moment demands resources of consciousness that have not been required before. She spoke of diving into “the personal and collective unconscious,” into “the very ground of being,” where hidden “patterns and possibilities, tools and skills” reside. From this depth, she suggests, humanity may discover the capacity to raise “the bar of our human existence” and to recover “the purpose, the passion and the skill” needed to meet the times with spiritual maturity and creative strength.
