Making time to listen to yourself is a real gift that many of us never give to ourselves. Life has a way of carrying us along before we’ve even had time to catch our breath. There is always something asking for our attention — responsibilities, decisions, people we love, things that feel urgent. We get very good at holding it all together, but somewhere along the way, it can become easy to lose touch with the quieter part of ourselves.
Not because it has disappeared. Simply because we have become busy.
Sometimes what we need is not more advice, another plan, or one more thing to strive for. Sometimes what we need most is space. Space to breathe a little more deeply. Space to hear ourselves again. Space to come back to who we are underneath all the noise.
That is the heart of our Conscious Living Bali retreats, which we are offering in 2027. Set among the rice fields and tropical gardens at Antagana, it is an invitation to slow down and turn inward. Bali’s beauty is not just something to admire while you are there — it becomes part of what helps you soften, settle, and remember a different rhythm. Mornings begin with gentle light over the landscape, birds calling across the fields, and that unmistakable feeling that life does not have to be rushed. The retreat unfolds in a simple but meaningful way. We begin by returning to coherence. Like a muddy pond that clears when left undisturbed, we often find that clarity comes on its own when we stop pushing so hard. Through grounding practices, reflection, connection, and time in nature, participants are gently supported to reconnect with their own inner knowing.
From that place of stillness, we begin listening more deeply. Underneath the expectations, obligations, and the many roles we play, there is often a quieter voice that knows what is true for us. The retreat is designed to help people hear that voice again through guided experiences, honest conversation, creative exploration, and meaningful moments of solitude.
As the week unfolds, attention turns toward remembering the dream. Not necessarily the dream of doing more, but the dream of feeling more fully alive and more fully ourselves. So many people carry quiet longings, half-formed ideas, or parts of themselves that have been waiting patiently beneath the surface. Often, they do not need fixing — they simply need space, safety, and permission to be felt again.
Yet dreams often reveal the obstacles standing in their way. Together, we explore the beliefs, fears, and patterns that keep us returning to the same ground. Not from a place of judgment, but from compassion and curiosity. When we begin to see clearly what has been holding us back, something new can begin to open.
As clarity deepens, participants begin embodying their vision. The question begins to shift from “What do I want?” to “Who am I becoming?” And often, it is the smallest inner shifts that create the most meaningful changes in how we live, relate, and move forward.
The retreat culminates in a shared experience in which participants are invited, if they choose, to speak aloud the vision emerging within them. Not as a performance, and not because they have to have it all figured out, but as a quiet declaration of possibility. There is something deeply powerful about being witnessed by others who can see your truth and hold space for what is unfolding.
At our 2026 Retreat held during Nyepi and the March equinox, participants arrived with different hopes and very different stories. Some were craving clarity. Others needed rest, healing, connection, or a renewed sense of purpose. What unfolded was a genuine sense of community, honesty, and self-trust that many had not felt in a long time. People left feeling lighter, steadier, and more connected to themselves — with new friendships, fresh inspiration, and a stronger sense of trust in what was next.
Transformation rarely happens because someone tells us what to do. More often, it happens when we create the right conditions for something honest and deeply true to rise to the surface. The retreat is not an escape from life, but a chance to return to it differently, a chance to pause. To listen, remember, and to take the next step forward with greater clarity, courage, and trust.
We are looking forward to gathering again in Bali and creating a space where people can reconnect with themselves, with one another, and with the dreams that are quietly asking to be lived. We have 2 retreats we are offering in 2027, in March and in October. If you are interested and would like to join us, follow this link: retreats.consciousliving.net.au
